  3. Spread the cooled blueberry mixture over the cream cheese layer. Again, you can leave some of the cream cheese visible around the outermost edges for a pretty layered look.
  4. Stir the sliced almonds into the reserved 1/2 cup of crumb mixture. Sprinkle this almond streusel evenly over the cake, concentrating most of it around the outer edges.
  5. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the top of the cake is golden brown and the center of the cake still jiggles ever so slightly when the pan is gently shaken.
  6. Cool the cake in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes. After cooling, carefully release the springform pan’s latch and remove the sides.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature.
